Congratulations, You're a Supervisor. Now What?
Summary:
People trained as scientists and technicians have a certain view of the world that is quite different from what is needed in the world of professional management. Instead of focusing on technical problems, the technically trained person promoted into supervision must focus on people.
He or she must learn to get things done through others and focus on motivating, training, directing, overseeing and evaluating employees. This Web conference teaches the basic skills needed but focuses on forming the most effective kind of relationships for a manager to develop with technical personnel.
