Conflict and Compromise in Lab Animal Facility Design

Summary:
Meeting budgetary constraints through value engineering is a key component to successful design and construction of any facility. While architects and engineers are intimately familiar with value engineering, lab animal professionals are generally new to the concept. This presentation will explore the first time experiences of value engineering from the facility director’s perspective. Illustration of the creative solutions for this facility’s layout, vendor selection, and final construction will provide a positive perspective that will likely prove valuable to those participating in facility design and construction for the first time. After all, simply hiring the right people will not assure that your project gets done right and on budget.

Who Should Attend:
Lab animal professionals interested in learning more about meeting budgetary constraints through value engineering and developing skills for interacting with architects and engineers.
