Noise and Vibration Design Criteria – Should limits be standardized?
News Posted: March 19, 2010A working group within the Acoustical Society of America is focusing on the animal lab environment. Specifically, the purpose of the working group is to develop guidelines, author technical reports, and work toward standardization pertaining to design, construction, and evaluation of vivaria and facilities for conducting laboratory animal research.
Further discussion of this topic will be presented at a Round Table at the upcoming TurnKey Conference in Baltimore. The roundtable session will be facilitated by Randy Rozema, Mechanical Engineer – Vibration/Acoustics, with ACS and an Acoustical Society working group member. Rozema notes that, “One purpose for the round table will be to collect input from laboratory users and owners that can be relayed back to the Acoustical Society working group. The discussion will be a conduit by which users and owners can provide feedback on this important topic.”
The Round Table will take place on Thursday, April 15th at 9:00am during the TurnKey Conference. More information is available at www.turnkeyconference.com.
