Debra Sharpe is Director of Compliance and Security for Southern Research Institute, and is responsible for staff members who ensure compliance with all federal and state safety, health, and environmental regulations including accident prevention and reporting, GLP (good laboratory practice), Select Agent registration, and compliance with the NIH guidelines. Debra’s group is also responsible for the Institute’s physical security, biosafety, biosecurity, medical surveillance, and management operations of two enhanced, BSL-3 laboratories. She is also President of BioSafety Solutions LLC (BSL) a wholly owned subsidiary of Southern Research Institute.
