Welcome to 2012

Article Posted: January 10, 2012

The 2012 TurnKey Conference, sponsored by ALN World and its sister publication, ALN Magazine, will take place April 12-13, 2012 at the Baltimore Hilton in the US state of Maryland.

The 2012 TurnKey Conference will include two tracks. The design/build track will cover all aspects of construction/renovation and operation of laboratory animal facilities. The clinical track, titled “Collaborations and Conversations: Practical Guidance for Refinements in Biomedical Research” will focus on the challenges facing the laboratory animal community in enrichment, surgeries, biomethodologies, and pathology in research.

You can certainly register to attend up until the day of the Conference, but if you register by January 20, you’ll save 20% on your registration fee. For more information on attending, or to register, visit the TurnKey Conference’s website at www.turnkeyconference.com.

TurnKey Awards
If you know of an exemplary facility manager or a newly built or renovated facility, please nominate them for a TurnKey Award. The 2012 TurnKey Awards, sponsored by ALN World, ALN Magazine, and Tecniplast, are comprised of two categories:

The Facility of the Year Award recognises outstanding achievements in the design/build of a new or renovated laboratory animal facility. The award is intended to showcase new ideas and accomplishments in facility design, construction, and operation.

The Facility Leader of the Year Award recognises laboratory animal professionals who exhibit outstanding leadership and promote the highest standards in the care and use of laboratory animals. The successful nominee should be in a supervisory capacity; place a strong emphasis on high standards of animal care, quality of services, and compliance; manage and motivate staff; and inspire his/her staff and peers.

Award nominations are due February 3, 2012. For more information on the awards and how to apply, go to www.turnkeyconference.com.
