At the time of this writing, the call for papers for the TurnKey Conference is in full swing. At the time of publication of this issue, the conference website (www.turnkeyconference.com) will begin to come to life again with the updated information and a new agenda.

Building on the success of last year’s event, the 2012 TurnKey Conference will once again include two tracks. The design/build track is the conference mainstay, covering all aspects of construction, renovation, and operation of laboratory animal facilities. This year, the clinical track is entitled “Collaborations and Conversations: Practical Guidance for Refinements in Biomedical Research.” The discussion will center on the important challenges facing the laboratory animal community in enrichment, surgery, biomethodologies, and pathology in research. While these two tracks differ greatly, we aim to bring together facets of the facility itself and the work being done inside.
